Paolo Pellegrin

I come from Roman Catholic Italy, where the church has a strong presence in civic life, but where there’s little deeply felt belief. What I found in Georgia was completely different. I came across the sense of devotion everywhere – in the villages, in Tbilisi, in the old churches. I felt the sense of commitment. It was extraordinary to see so many young people expressing religious devotion.
